Shania Shelby, Civic Engagement Organizer

Shania Shelby was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. At the age of 13 years old she began to volunteer with Mi Familia Vota by phone banking, going door to door and participating in rallies with my friends and family. She began to love the organization at such a young age and knew she wanted to start a career doing this work.

At 16 years old she started her first job as a canvasser and advanced to a lead canvasser. She is passionate about the work that is done with Mi Familia Vota. She enjoys getting the community registered to vote, getting the youth involved by going to high schools to engage and inspire young adults on why it’s important to vote and have a voice.

Her family got her started with the work she is doing with MFV. She loves spending time with her godson, nieces, and family. They inspire her to do all the work that she does.
