Arizona – We know that elections come down to the smallest margins. For example In 2022, Attorney General Kris Mayes won her election by 280 votes. To meet this critical moment in our state’s history, Mi Familia Vota Arizona is launching a campaign to help a minimum of 280 Arizonans become citizens before the 2024 election.
“The 2022 election in Arizona is a clear example that every vote counts. Many of the races from the previous midterm elections in the state were so close, an example of this is the Attorney General race which was decided by ONLY 280 votes, our organization is committing to helping a minimum of 280 Arizonan’s become US Citizens. We see this as an opportunity to expand the electorate and raise awareness about how close elections in Arizona can be and that we need as many eligible Arizonan’s to participate.” said Carolina Rodriguez-Greer, Arizona State Director for Mi Familia Vota.
Background: There are 157,799 long-term permanent residents eligible to naturalize in Arizona and 53% of them are Latino. (Source: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services 2022)

Eligible individuals will receive the following during the event:
- Help filling out the N-400 Application for naturalization
- Individual consultations with immigration attorneys
- Material to study for their citizenship test
- Information about financial assistance to help cover the application fees
