Ángel Luis Vega has built a substantial career, with over 20 years in roles that involved community engagement, community organizing, program management, project management, and building and leading high-performing teams.. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ángel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Inter-American University and a Master’s in Management and Leadership from Webster University. In 2013, he authored a book on professional development.
Ángel has served on several influential boards and councils, including the Young Leaders for Inclusion Council, the Advisory Board of Prospera USA, and the Board of Directors of the International Hispanic Art and Culture Association. His expertise covers areas such as program development, grassroots organizations, issue-based & political campaigns, get-out-the-vote (GOTV) initiatives, voter registration, strategy, operations, and team leadership. He has had the opportunity to volunteer and organize for several political campaigns in Florida, California, Texas, and Puerto Rico, including gubernatorial, mayoral, congressional, and President Obama’s presidential campaign. In 2020, Ángel joined Mi Familia Vota as the Texas Deputy Field Director. After pursuing a statewide office in Texas in 2021, he returned to Mi Familia Vota in 2022 as the Texas Field Director. He now holds the position of Texas State Director, where he continues his work in community empowerment and advocating for Latinos and underrepresented communities.
Ángel lives with his wife Ideneth and their children, Victoria, Matthew, and Maverick, in Houston. When he’s not working, Ángel enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his personal interests, which include traveling, scuba-diving, cycling, running, reading, and writing.
