Ileana Sanchez, Community Organizer

A native San Antonian, Ileana studied Human Geography and Sociology at Sam Houston State University where she worked with the City of Huntsville Planning Department. She moved to Dallas in July 2021 to pursue a career in organizing, bringing her to Mi Familia Vota.


Her passion for organizing comes from the late St. Oscar Romero and Dorothy Day, both of whom were pioneers in the Catholic Social Justice movement in the 1900’s. Her goal is to build relational and political power amongst the youth and young adults in Dallas with the aspiration to live in a world as it should be.
